About Spiritual Creature's Founder!
Ren Rentz IV was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. A third-generation Clemson Tiger, Southern is literally in his blood. Salt life was a family affair, and vacations were spent at his grandmother's beach house. Here he began surfing at age twelve.
As a young boy, he grew up hunting, fishing, and attending a small Methodist church in the deep southern woods near his father's farm in Oswego, South Carolina. After graduating from Thomas Sumter Academy, he went on to attend Clemson University where he studied Wildlife Biology.
Studying Wildlife Biology was a natural choice since a love of nature is something that was instilled in Ren from a young age. A true pioneer of the land, he has explored National Parks all across the country such as Canyonlands, Congaree, Big Bend, Joshua Tree, Carlsbad Caverns, Sequoia, Guadalupe Mountains, King's Canyon, Death Valley, Capitol Reef, Yosemite, Zion, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Rocky Mountain, and Arches. It is in these untouched places that he finds peace, connection with God, and the adventurous side of life.
After a bit of time at Clemson, he felt the call of the wild pulling him. He left college to live the fast life in a single wide trailer in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. This proved a very pivotal time for his outlook on life. Working afternoons in a tattoo shop, and nights at a nightclub, he realized that there is a razor-thin edge between really living your life and complacency. Almost every morning he woke up faced with a life or death decision; roll over and go back to sleep or choose life, get up and go surf.
As a young man still trying to find himself in the world he decided to see what another part of the country had to offer. So he headed for the City of Angels. There he found himself navigating the ever-present lure and whisper of the enemy. What would seemingly be the downfall of most, he found both his beginning and end. The devil called him by his sin, but God called him by his name.
It would take some time for him to hear God's Rally Cry on his heart, but the hand of God was always over his life. In Los Angeles, his love for the tattoo culture deepened. He collected many iconic pieces by stellar artists such as Jack Rudy and Johnny 2/3rds.
From there he found himself in the music scene in Austin, Texas. After many years of as he puts it "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" he was saved. Called back home by The Holy Spirit to his roots. It is here that he has set out to change the hearts of our youth. He still lives fast these days, but he lives fast for the Lord. To read about Spiritual Creature's Mission click the link below.
